Hanukkah, Bowties, and Zulu

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA for the last couple of days...to catch you up:
For the rest of Hanukkah I got a really cool necklace from Forever21, a Laura Mercier lipgloss, a ridiculously cool tassle necklace with black, gold, and silver beads (pictures below), and a TON of iTunes giftcards. I think I'm going to buy Romeo and Juliet tonight for Chuck (my iPad - named after the one and only Charles Bartholomew Bass of course!). The one with Leonardo DiCaprio...We're reading it in English and every time we read a section we watch a section of the movie. I love it though, the old english I mean, and it's so beautiful...sometimes I even go back over passages and read them to myself multiple times because I like them so much...but enough about my nerdiness!

Instead, I would like to talk about my secret love for crop tops worn with booty shorts! Psych! My next order of business is my pimp new bowtie! You thought you could escape the prep for once, didn't you? Heehee...Oh, it's so cool though. My mom had to pick up sweatpants for my brother at the uniform yesterday so I went with her, and that's when I found this baby. I'm not even sure what school's uniform it's supposed to go to (or if it goes with a uniform at all; I found it in the back against a wall with the shoes). It's navy and red stripes with white and yellow stripes outlining the stripes (does that make sense?). It's a clip on though, which is annoying because in order to put it on right I have to button my shirt up all the way which REALLY makes me look like a nerd, so I just kind of slid in one end and twisted it so that it looked like the other end was clipped in. Wore it to school today with a white button down, a camel Tory Burch sweater, skinny jeans (because it's cold out) and a navy peacoat from J. Crew for in the morning when it was really cold. Would've been fantastic with my brown boots from Steve Madden, but I once again came face to face with my arch nemesis, the no boots allowed policy.

Nars Zulu's on my nails at the moment. So pretty. A deep jelly green, it takes 3 coats to become not-streaky and opaque, but it's so worth it. It's so reflective! Like, they're completely shiny even without topcoat. It's almost-black in the shade, but you can really see it's green in the light. Zulu was part of the Nars Vintage 2010 collection that came out recently where Nars brought back 5 of their most-loved colors from the past. If you weren't lucky (or old!) enough to snag one when they first came out, I hope you were lucky enough to grab one this time around!

Random post. Hope I hit it all. Cold again tomorrow! Boyfriend jeans? I think so :)
XO!
