Well, I'm leaving for New York in a couple of days and then straight to camp, so I figured I'd spend the couple of days left in this week trying out new layering combinations. Because colors are fun. And summer school is not.
For this manicure, I used two coats of Essie Sag Harbor - my all time favorite polish - with a coat of Lippmann Happy Birthday on top. Then, I put a coat of an Essie pink jelly, Sugar Daddy, on top. The pink jelly tones down the reflectiveness of the hexagonal sequins in Happy Birthday and mutes the overall tone. The final result kind of looks like the pieces of glitter are suspended in the polish. I quite like it. My friend said it reminded her of a cupcake, and my mom said it reminded her of her childhood when she used to melt crayons and put them back together...which is a weird activity for a kid, if you think about it.
I so don't want to take this off tomorrow. Ahh why does nail polish have to be so pretty!!
ps. sorry for the crappy picture. I really need a camera.
